then sometimes you just need to get away from Trophy or any other Bayliner related products....had to be towed from 25 miles southwest of Dauphin island and
hopefully I won't have to be towed in that boat again as it is going from the mechanics shop straight to the BOAT TRADER

salt water in the sparkplug ports....we were chasing cobia and kings and as I would slowly idle around the rigs sometimes the motor would cut off...I could
always easily restart it but at our most southern point it went dead at half idle and would not restart....dont know if it is a leak in the water jacket or
maybe the timing is off....I have heard that the timing will cause the same exact symptoms, so I am hoping that is the problem...we are waiting to
hear....along came a large sportfisher with duel diesels and towed us back in...the boat was the "HEAD-TURNER" out of Dauphin Island...and with all
the bad stories you hear about nowdays, I am here to tell you there are still GOOD people out there....those guys were practicing the tournament and offered to
tow us and then would not even accept gas money for thier troubles...and I can't wait to repay the favor towards someone else....

that is great that they helped you.....you should find out who that is and get their address and take a couple cases of beer to the UPS store and overnight
them to them. a tow from out there is like 2 grand or something crazy like that. as far as the trouble i know you said saltwater in the sparkplug ports but
what about simply water in the fuel....either from condensation in the tank or from the ethanol in the gas from the station.....it is terrible on outboards and
has given me trouble lately hope the heck its not to crazy and you get it going soon.

I have an inboard Volvo Penta V-8 with a Mercruiser out-drive.....we checked all that you mentioned...looked at the water-fuel seperator. the fuel pump was
electric and quit working, after wiring it straight to the battery we were back in business but could'nt get it to fire off, after talking to someone else
that had identical symptoms with a similiar inboard he found that it had slipped timing somewhat and that was all that was wrong....I have no idea how slipped
timing would allow saltwater into the block, but I am waiting to hear......I hope to find the info on that captain when the tournament website is updated.....I
was thinking about sending a bottle of Glen Livet and a nice bottle of wine as well

that does seem weird that timing would allow water in.....but guess its possible. hopefully nothing else got messed up bc of it. we used to have that same
motor in my dads old Chris Craft. only problems we had were some bad wiring once....other than that was a good motor ran great and could go all over the gulf
on an 80 gallon tank and nver come close to burning it all. burned half as much as the outboards back then. lost it during hurricane george. drain got clogged
with leaves and the motor box filled up with water and sat there under water for 2 weeks before we noticed(just stepping in and looking at the boat you could
not tell it was like that without opening the box)....right before that my mom had changed the insurance on the boat to some type of liability only crap so
didnt get a penny for it. miss that old boat for sure....real heavy, ran great, and a great ride.
