tihs is a veryy common practice and has been for as long as there have been oil rigs. i remember about 15 years ago back when my dad still had the old bow shop on Lemoyne, On Target, some guys he knew who worked on the rigs came in with a video they took of when they set charges on one back then. they were the guys who were on the barge by it and they had brought cast nets and long handle scoop nets to get the fish. they had netted and scooped something like 500 snapper off the surface and there other boats around them doing the same thing so no teling how many it was total. but at least those didnt just go to waste.
